These beautiful coins feature Sam the Koala on one side (Permission for use of the image given by the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment) and a image of hope on the reverse side. The words around the outside are "Dedicated to all those who have lost, and all those who have risked their lives to fight for them". All money raised will go to the RedCross Bushfire Appeal.

This stand by the coin.

The fires are still burning in Victoria.

It is not over yet.

Thanks for the questions. We have now sold 250 coins (around 125 in each colour) and are pushing the order to 350 - 400.

To answer your questions, here are the appropriate costs in your local currency.

$16.95AUD + Shipping
$15.40USD inc shipping
12.10Euro inc shipping

We will be requesting samples of the coins from the manufacturer today... once we approve the final product we will be placing our order. We're looking at 3-4 weeks.

100% of the proceeds (minus manufacturing) will go to the RedCross 2009 Bushfire Appeal.

If you're interested in ordering, I urge you to do it ASAP to avoid disappointment.

You can order the coins from the following URL:
http://geocachestore.com.au/2009-vic-bushfire-geocoin.html

Note the site is in AUD, so please check with xe.com before making your final order. For international orders, you will need to use the PayPal option for payment.

Any questions, please contact us directly on admin@geocachestore.com.au

Regards!

Ouch ! I just ordered mine, $7 dollars for shipping and a credit card surcharge brings it up to almost $25 for one coin, it's just as well it's for a good cause otherwise I would have emptied the basket instead of checking out.

I like to see coins being used in such a positive way, in the greater scheme of things it isn't going to add up to whole heap, but if everyone makes a little bit of effort and does something to raise a few dollars then collectively it could have a huge impact.

Thanks for taking on this project. I have spent a long time in Australia and I have lots of friends and family there, from the other side of the world it is difficult to comprehend the devastation caused by bushfires unless you have actually witnessed it. Good luck with the fund raising, I hope lots more people order this coin not just for its aesthetic value but the cause it was minted for.

Bushfire Geocoins

Well people, the Bushfire coins are nearly here! We've just received confirmation that the coins are due to arrive in the country around the 28th to the 30th of April (pending no hiccups with shipping or customs!) We've been told the coins look amazing and as soon as we get them in we'll do a mass ship out the next day to everyone who has ordered.

We've taken orders for around 360 coins, and with our order of 400, stock of these is running out extremely fast! Orders will be shipped on a first come first served basis, we'll confirm exact numbers in the next week or so and add stock quantities to the coin pages!

To keep you all update.
