This morning I got a notification mail for a new topic in the Big Blue.
http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=220145
I mean, I know, tags are not supposed to be discussed.
But when someone confuses them with travellers and ask a genuine question, why nip it in the but and shut it down?
For me, this is ridiculous. What are they afraid of?

i have to agree. it is really ludicrous. they give more importance to pathtags by censoring any talk of them.
silly people.

No, that's a different one....
I have to say, there is a certain need to drop an expanation card with the tags, as some seems to be very confused about them... _________________ Be yourself so others may recognize you

Perhaps this is a good time to ask my question. To be honest, I haven't spent any time researching the answer to this so if it's totally obvious, please forgive me.
I have been fortunate enough to get a few pathtags as gifts along with trades and missions and I am curious...do I "activate" them the same as geocoins or are they more just logging them on the pathtags site and that's it? Does it matter if I log them or not?
Just wondering about the ettiquette of it all... _________________ ELTADA

Hi Eltada,
pathtags are signature items.
For you to keep or to do what ever you like.
The owner would love you to log it at pathtags.com, then it will appear in your collection.
While getting an account there, you give a more or less accurate coordinate as your home location, then the tag will appear on a map logged at your place.
For me it is fun to see, where my tags end up. All those places I probably will never be able to visit!
The trading is fun and also the designing of new ones. _________________ Be yourself so others may recognize you

Thanks Elli - I have an account at pathtags.com just haven't logged anything. Didn't know about the map feature so I agree, that would be neat for the owner to see. I will log my tags so that they will show up there.
Thanks again for the quick answer!

I'm sure, the taggers would be very happy.
I love checking where my tags end up. _________________ Be yourself so others may recognize you

Ditto to all of the above.....their stupid rules and regulations are one of the reasons that I hardly visit the geocoin thread over there anymore. It's really off-putting..... _________________ "Better to try all things and to find all empty, than to try nothing and leave your life a blank".... Charlotte Bronte. |
