Why are some peoples avatars E, taking up as much as 1/4 of the page, and others small? How do you get such a E avatar when the "width can be no greater than 100 pixels, the height no greater than 100 pixels , and the file size no more than 9 KB"? Shocked Question

If you link it in from a website, it's one of the options for uploading a pic Smile

So if a site like photobucket provides the image we can go over?

That's my understanding of it. For example, it looks like ThePetersTrio has theirs linked in from gc.com, which is why it's bigger than either of ours.

Just try it out and see if it works Cool

I had mine to size down so much, that you can't read the

WELCOME TO THE NUTHOUSE

anymore.

But my avatar is on the green forum (the German one) the same as here as on Groundspeak. And it had to be sized down.

But that I did on my Computer and did the upload later.

Actually it's an image from google images that I've used at gc.com.

I tried to use a personal photo that I resized on photobucket but it wouldn't let me.

When I see my avatar, it looks larger than most but not so large as to make the page move over. If others are seeing it differently and it's too big, I'm happy to try and change it to something smaller.

If I can. Wink

Mine was rather on the large size, I've trimmed it down a tad, if only doing the same to my waistline was as easy !

I tried to get a new avatar.

I know, that's always a pain, but I wanted to use my pathtag as an avatar.

Now the image is 100 by 97 pixel but it's 28. something kb.

Even trying to use an URL from another site didn't work. Why?

How do I get that image to stay in 100 pixel but get it down to 9kb?

If you take a good picture of it and then load it to a photo sharing web sitr you can link to it and not have to change it.

So a big Thank You to Scotland!!!

Actually the dragon is driving me nuts...
Where is he going?
Why is he coming back?
What is he picking up?

Does he has to move so quickly?

The flashing dragon was kind of cool, this is just not my taste, it defers even more from your posting.

Well, as usual, just my unworthy 2 €cent... Embarassed
