ok, i think we should have a list of established and trusted geocoin stores. not just the ones that groundspeak endorse but the other lesser but trusted coin stores.
i would also like to learn if there are more european coin stores.
so far three stores come to my mind
http://zengarten.com/
http://www.geocoinshop.de/
http://www.mygeocoin.de/
ok theres no need to list the big stores as they seem to be well known and publicised anyway.
this list is for the smaller stores and individuals who design and/or sell coins.
i just decided that apart from some of the coins that are really well made, i would prefer to give my custom to these smaller sellers.
im fed up with looking at the well known stores and thinking i like this or i like that and then getting to the checkout to pay and learning that i would get totally screwed by the rediculous costs for shipping out of the us.
so.....lets big it up for the not so well known coin stores - worldwide.
admin may i suggest this could be a pinned topic, or create a pinned list when theres a decent response? |

Paganfrog I was thinking similar things yesterday. Wondering about starting up a geocoin club here, so we can bulk order and save on shipping - certainly wait until I want about 5 coins before I order from the US because a flat addition of $5 kills a single coin! Especially with the £ on thr drop against the $. I thought really about doing it for locals, so there would be no onward postage cost, but I suppose one coin to scotland is only going to add about £1 or less to your coin (which is better than $8 or whatever!) Of course the main problem is the speed at which some coins sell out, though OakCoins & C&P never seem to suffer that, it's more Hogwildstuff that do the really cool things (like the pirate sword)
Anyway, let me know what you think, plus, I'll pin a topic and add some more I know of. We'll split them by location so folks if you add any please specify _________________ www.CacheWalker.co.uk - Caching by byway not highway!

yeah you may or may not have seen my comment on a discussion on the other forum. anyway just to say that i think some of the us sites over charge on shipping fees out of the us. its daylight robbery the amount they add on to your costs if you dont have a us postal address.anyway if anyone know of other good european based coin sites or even any sites anywhere worldwide that are not based in america. i just think the more choices the better.
hey mel, i love the idea of your geocoin club. id love to be able to be part of it. can you let me know if you do start one up please? thanks.

I haven't actually bought anything through them, although they hosted the pre-sale for the Dutch 2008. All I can say about them is that they are very quick to respond to emails. _________________ "Don't count your weasels before they pop, dink!" -- The Tick |

Well, I'm about as small as ya get, but I also haven't had a chance to prove myself as a 'trusted' store.
Palehorse Design - http://palehorse.serveftp.net
I agree that shipping from North America to Europe to is nuts, but it's what the post office is charging. $4 for a 100g mailer, $8 for 250g!!
It's not mentioned on my site, but I'll certainly entertain group purchases to try and save on shipping. _________________ "Don't count your weasels before they pop, dink!" -- The Tick |

Shipping might be high, but the smaller the package the less chance of customs trying to get their cut as well....
I've asked once which criteria they use and the answer was basically: fate, bad luck for me, there is no rule...
But smaller envelopes usually slip through! _________________ Be yourself so others may recognize you

Tsun has an excellent reputation in the coin world and very, VERY high demand coins. Definitely a must for the list. _________________ The harder the task, the greater the reward! |
