when meeting up with people to show and discover each others coins?

im soon to meet up for this opportunity, and i don't know how many coins the other person will bring.
what i want to know is, do you "discover" all they show just to get the icons, or do you only choose the coins you rate and like the most?

I think it depends on what you want to do. If you want to have the icons, discover as many as you can.
I have been to one event only, but I don't like to spend the whole time writing down tracking numbers. I discovered some coins that I thought are rare and of some that are travelling with cachers I talked to. When I meet someone while caching and the other cacher shows me some coins I discover them all.

If there are lots of coins, I probably look through and selectively discover the ones I haven't seen before and the ones that catch my eye. If they offer a list with the tracking numbers it speeds things up, but I still like to look through them all, and may not log them all.

If there are not that many coins I would probably discover them all.

When I go to an event I usually grab 4-6 recently activated coins to bring along for discovery by others, any more than that can get distracting (and too heavy to carry around in my pocket!).

thanks for the good answers. i will see about 20 coins, so i will probably log them all considering i dont get the chance to find many normally.
i think im becoming an icon fanatic lol.
